AS A MIXED MEDIA ARTIST,

​Shawn’s whimsical and colorful mixed media figures are inspired by everything from a polka dot piece of fabric, a kitchen utensil or a silly dream.  She loves using an assortment of materials including: found objects, fiber, wood, beads, and paint.

She was born in San Francisco and spent her formative years in a brightly colored house on 14th Avenue and Fulton Street in the Richmond district.  Her home was in walking distance from the Rose Garden, The De Young Museum, Clement Street restaurants and a bus ride away from endless urban adventures.  She was stirred by the richness of her environment at an early age.
